Lost in Reading

found a book, FOREIGN BABES IN BEIJING, thought it would be an interesting one, viewing BJ through American women's eyes, actually no +.+
the author arrived at BJ 1994 to start her career as an accounting executive, in the local office of an American PR firm. her boss hired her because she's an American and speaks fluent Chinese (the boss had lived in BJ for several years, but spoke no Chinese herself; staffs in the office were mostly Chinese.)
her major in Columbia U was literature and poetry. she felt a certain bound to China inside her and intended to write verses, to mark her life in Beijing. she only got months of temperate training on finance, so she didn't have a good start in her business. however, she turned her concern to the society, the culture, the environment, billboards of Coca-Cola, bike waves in the morning, smoky sky and dusty air, and other stuffs around her. she carried her dictionary with her all day long, went to her tutor better her pronounciation before her shoot in the soap-opera; she looked into the 6/4 incident, criticized China's solitary policy and controversing opening policy; she's got a lot to say about the city, the country and the people though she said she loved BJ.
not gonna read any pages from that book in a while, cauz it reads passimistic emthusiastic and it's not a funny to look at all those terrifying facts for the one who prepares herself for the city.
it was 1994. an American went to expore in BJ.
it is 2008. Olympic year, terrobile air condition and horrified taffic hours remain.
a Cantonese is about to expore her life there, 2.
an American is a foreigner, a Laowai to Beijing.
a Cantonese could also be a foreigner, an outsider to the city.
the temperature is rising soon after Qingming,
still April but feels summer already
will it be dizzy this July? v'l c.
no one came to use the library today and i just lost in my own reading.
Scandinavia MAC´´´Danish and English only´´´´
can't type in Chinese +.+
I obviously don't speak Danish!
